Poet Samantha MukamaAt age eleven, Samantha Mukama has already made a mark as a poet. To date, the P.6 pupil at Kitante Primary School in Uganda, has already written numerous poems on child rights and corruption. She is a brilliant girl in and out of class and is harboring dreams of becoming a famous poet and book author in the near future. Child Africa’s Levin Sentongo and Jeremiah Byakika chat with her.

Amelu Frank on his passionSince he was six years old, Amelu has been using art to pass the message of child rights and corruption to children, communities and the Government. His work has already been published in calendars and magazines (including BINGWA Magazine) and has seen him recently visit Kampala. During the 2014 Day of the African Child celebrations, he presented his work at the Tororo District office. He is also the chairperson of BINGWA Club in his school. A Primary Seven pupil at Morukatipe Primary School in Tororo, Uganda, he talks to us about his passions.

Environmentalist Stephen Njoroge

Environmentalist Stephen Njoroge He is the environmental activist who started ‘We Care Club’ at nine years of age. Today, the club has over 5,000 members. In September 2012, he was named the ‘Top Under 20’ entrepreneur by Business Mind Magazine. On October 18 2012 , he was feted on the UN day at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi. In November 2012, he was appointed the Green Africa Foundation Goodwill Ambassador and on November 15 2012, he established a ‘Kibaki Green Corner’ in honour of former President Kibaki’s birthday. On  November 17 2012, he was the chief guest at the ‘Plant Your Age Initiative’ at Nairobi National Park. He is also the voice of children on the Board of Visionaries for Vision 2030. He is 13 years-old and goes to Makini School in Nairobi, Kenya. BINGWA Magazine correspondent Kabeeria M’mbogori talks to him.
